I performed cooling maintenance today on an AC pro system. Upon arrival, the system was fully operational. All electrical components, including fan motors, and the compressor tested in range with no signs of damage. This system features surge protection, but no form of air purification. The homeowner mentioned a weird smell, but I checked the coil and the system was clean. One solution is to add purification as it removes odors as well as airborne pathogens and bacteria. I verified that the return air filter was clean and cleaned the outdoor coil as it was dirty. There were no signs of rodent entry in the outdoor unit. Although the ductwork is not code compliant, the systems static pressure is in range. Upon the parts of the system is fully operational with optimal temperature, differentials in cooling mode.
