Customer called in stating that he has an exhaust vent pipe that is loose that he would like reviewed: At arrival, the customer brought me down to his gas fired water boiler: con-ed has Red tagged the boiler, shut power, disconnected gas and plugged. They stated that the venting was not correct and that the system is missing its drain. This is a wall hung boiler with 3” sheet metal piping going into chimney. There is no drain on the boiler Spoke with manufacturer on site and reviewed current install: as per the manufacturer, they stated that the 3 inch venting into the chimney is fine as long as the chimney is lined. They also confirm that this is NOT a condensing boiler and no drain is required. The system has no fresh air intake piped to the outside- gather pictures of install and data plate info for office to follow up with a quote to install fresh air intake.
