Came out for machine, not cooling properly upon arrival found float switch tripped offered customer drain cleaning. Customer denied and said they would do it self.
No cooling, client thinks that thermostat is not satisfying to shut AC off. Verify that thermostat is working correctly and is shutting thermostat off at appropriate set point, however, indoor temperature is reading 80° and thermostat is set at 78 and blowing out warm air. Upon further diagnosis, determined that evaporator coil is extremely plugged and it’s not allowing airflow to pass across coil. There was no air filter in system, client states that she just pulled the air filter out yesterday. Explain to client that she may also be low on refrigerant, but it’s gonna be hard to determine that due to the coil being so clogged up. Offered to do extensive diagnostic, however, client declined. Client says that her father is in the business and will have somebody come and look at their AC. She will compare quotes and get back to us if she decides to use our company. Gave client solutions for issues with system, however, system is 10 years old and recommend replacing due to age and cost of
