I had Chen Plumbing replace a bathroom faucet and install new hot and cold shutoff valves with new metal-braided supply lines, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. Shawn went above and beyond. Not only was he professional, efficient, and clearly skilled, but he also took the time to offer genuinely helpful tips and explanations along the way — the kind you don’t get unless someone actually cares. Everything was explained in plain English, the work area was left spotless, and the new premium faucet looks great and works perfectly. No leaks, no stress, no surprises. They provided the faucet, handled all connections, and made sure everything was solid before leaving. It’s obvious Shawn takes real pride in his work. If all service professionals were this thorough and considerate, home repairs would be a pleasure instead of an adventure. I would absolutely use Chen Plumbing again and highly recommend them — especially Shawn. My sink is thrilled. I am too. 😄

Chen installed tall toilet. Said bathroom was non standard. Not true. It was a standard toilet which he replaced. Chen should have replaced my standard toilet with a standard toilet, not a tall toilet. We will never use Chen Plumbing again.

Chen Plumbing has repaired and restored my home plumbing system many times. This last time, home inspector found some issues. Even though that work was completed more than a year ago, Chen responded quickly and scheduled the repair within a few days and charged only the basic rate for the work. It is comforting for owners to know that they can call back a contractor to repair and restore system issues from past work - quickly and affordably.

Return to install ordered Rinnai exhaust assembly. Removed old assembly, installed new part. Replaced gaskets in gas conversion chamber. While on site I also flushed the water heater. The flush resulted in SIGNIFICANT amounts of sediment removal. Tested hot water at tap, cleared line of residual air.

Call for no hot water. Arrived and spoke with Eric. Hot water stopped working yesterday. After diagnosing and attempting repairs, we found a defective/failed part. The part is unavailable locally and must be shipped. Diagnostic notes: Cut condensate drain line to ensure no blockage. Cleaned debris port. Air intake free of blockage and debris. Concentric vent is installed correctly and functioning normally. Water pressure good at 50 psi on a weekday at ~930am. Removed cover. No signs of distress or deterioration. Moderate amount of dust. Air intake intake filter had some debris, but not enough to cause an issue. Removed intake motor and disassembled. No blockage or debris present. Air butterfly valve is difficult to turn. When testing, butterfly valve makes grinding noise and does not cycle. Contacted Rinnai support and they also isolated the failure to this component. Contacted all available plumbing supply houses. Part required is unavailable and must be ordered. Discussed find
Quoted 40 gal electric water heater replacement today
Call for bathroom faucet that is difficult to use. Arrived and met with Ms. Kay and family. Ms. Kay has had recent health difficulties and would like the faucet to be easier to use. Inspection revealed that the old faucet is a pull and twist style single handle. Shut off valves are old half inch style. Pressure on home is 60 psi at ~5pm on a weekday. I replaced faucet with a Moen faucet. Faucet has bar handles, easy to grab and activate. Replaced pop up drain with a push button style drain to ease use for Ms. Kay. Replaced bad shut off valves with new quarter turn valves. Removed metallic p trap assembly, which are prone to failure, to reduce risk of water escaping and making floor slippery. I also noticed toilet was not secure. I slightly tightened bolt and also applied caulking. These items are done as a courtesy. Turned on water and tested all work. Water heater turned back on. For this job, the customer supplied us with two brand new faucets for them to be installed. The previous ones were offbrand faucets in the cartridges needed to be replaced on them considering I couldn’t find a brand on them. CUSTOMER opted to go ahead and replace them rather than rebuild them. Rebuilt them with brand new faucets in new pop-up assemblies with four brand new supply lines 20 inches in length the side sink is not plumbed in correctly however, I was able to make it work and allow no sewer gases to escape from the P-trap had to extend the tubular about 12 inches in order for them to both work once installed. Everything is all set. There are no leaks on the pop-up assembly the P-trap the tubular supply lines and the faucet itself no further issues at this present moment.
Replaced a broken pvc toilet flange with new one , installed toilet back with new bolts and wax seal
Call for smell from crawlspace. Arrived and spoke with Scott. He mentioned he went in the crawlspace to perform checks and smelled a bad smell. Looking in the back he saw puddles of water. Inspection revealed failed cast iron pipe section between kitchen and main line. Sewage has leaked on to plastic and started under moisture barrier as well. I recommend contacting Reliable Restoration to assist in sewage extraction and to assist with other restorative work. This CUSTOMER she has two unbranded faucets that one of them has an issue of the cartridge is constantly dripping and leaking so as a result is what I recommend is to replace both faucets with customer supplied ones. She would supply us with faucet and we would go ahead and install them so that is exactly what we’re gonna do on Sunday. She ordered two brand new faucets from Home Depot and we’re gonna get them installed Without in mind. We’re gonna go ahead and replace the 20 inch supply lines for both hot and cold for both sets of faucets and potentially if we need to replace the pop-up assembly, depending on the faucet at this time, no work will be performed today. However, the job is scheduled for Sunday. Water pressure is normal. Did not take a look at the water heater because it was in a locked room. CUSTOMER has a tankless water heater from prior notes.
Customer had no hot water. Left quote for a new water heater in either gas or electric. Customer will make decision between the two and call for scheduling. 50% deposit will be required for scheduling.

Arrived and was showed area undergoing remodel. Customer wasn’t on site, called with pricing and info. Customer declined to have work done. Attempted to send a quote via email to show price discussed over the phone and the proposed discount to get the work done. Customer still declined. Waived the dispatch fee. No email on file to send quote.
Main sewer line back up both bathroom at main floor , removed standing sewerage in the hallway bathtub , snaked with 100 feet of big cable snake machine , can not clear the blockage due to distance and possible roots problem , locate the pipe outside in the yard and quoted replacement, will credit back half of the service today towards replacement
Replaced a cracked toilet with western elongated none ADA , installed a new shower head upstairs
Came out for leaking expansion tank. Expansion tank had rusted through and ruptured. Was spraying water all over carport closet. Water heater was from 2014. Customer elected to just replace the water heater. Went and purchased materials and returned. Swapped out water heater and expansion tank. Installed new pan and shut off valve. Repressurized the home and tested to ensure proper function and a leak free installation, no further issue at this time. Thank you for choosing Chen Plumbing.
