We needed our sewer and water lines replaced due to multiple root problems in the original sewer line. Dawson was great about giving us our options and letting us know the costs upfront. They seemed to do a thorough job of connecting the system to our home and the city’s sewer line. The crew did a nice job of smoothing out the dirt from the excavation of our lawn. Client called us out today due to a clogged main sewer line outside. There are 2 clean outs and both were holding water. Best choice was to jet the entire line with high pressure water and clear the blockage/clean out the pipe so we could see the issue. After multiple passes we were able to break the clog free then ran sewer camera to inspect. There don’t seem to be any issues, UNTIL after the 2nd clean out by the sidewalk, under the sidewalk. To repair this issue, we would have to bust up the concrete sidewalk, then dig down about 3’ with the backhoe to the sewer line, to then cut out the problem section and repair it. Client will need to check with the city to verify it’s OK for us to dig up the sidewalk, also wouldn’t be a bad idea to have them tell you where your responsibility stops as far as sewer line is concerned. Returned and install a new Rinnai RE199in in utility room in customer garage. Connected to existing gas, vent, and water. Set parameters to the correct setting and set temp to 125. Tested all work to ensure proper functioning and no leaks. None were found.
Customer had stated that the water wasn’t getting hot in the home. Opened the utility closet and inspected the unit. There were no active codes happening with the unit upon inspection. Ran water in the home and noted hot water being produced by the tankless unit. Did notice a slight fluctuation in the temperature but both bathrooms in the home are multi handle valves and can’t be the source of any cross connections. Advised customer to wait at least a day before jumping to unit replacement to see if any more tangible symptoms show themselves. Will proceed with any replacement options from there.
Customer had several issues including; loose toilet seat, 2 clogged sink drained, leaking disposal, clogged tub, and broken tub drain. Gave options to fix seat, unclogged all drains then replaced disposal and tub drain. Found sink itself to be leaking in bathroom to right. Suggested not to use. Unable to check pressure due to being complex. After work was completed, checked for leaks and proper function.
Extended gas line and remounted at new desired location. Replaced 2 frost proof hose bibs on right side of the house. Bubble tested gas line to ensure no leaks. No further issue at this time.
Customer stated that there was a leak on a valve. Gave customer quote to fix leak and customer agreed. Cut out old gate valve and installed new copper piping. Tested no leaks were presented at this time. Cleaned up work area.
Installed stiffener on drain line for washing machine tested thoroughly to ensure no leaks, work is tested and complete.
Customer stated that sewer ejection pump in basement was tripping breaker. Gave customer option of pulling pump and inspecting it. Customer agreed so went ahead and pulled pump. Once pump was pulled, found that there was no weep hole drilled and also that motor on pump was really hard to turn. Recommended to customer pump replaced and customer agreed. Furnish and installed new sewer ejection pump with new check valve. Tested and at this time pump was working as it should. Cleaned up work area.
Replaced two hose bibs and line with two new shut valves
Trench from water meter to home. Install new 1in uponor pex water line. Inside home install new Prv and main house shut off valve. Also for laboratory faucet install 2 new service valves with supply lines. Water service line has a transferable 5 year warranty against material defect and workmanship.
Customer approved estimate for water service replacement and collected a 25% deposit fee that is nonrefundable. Will return tomorrow to do work.
