Customer had little to no hot water throughout the entire home. The aster shower effectively had none and it takes an extremely long time for hot water to reach most fixtures in the bathroom. Inspected the serial number for the Raheem tankless heater and found manufacture date to be July 2009.. customer has lived in the home for two years and hasn’t flushed the unit. Service history before is unknown. Made customer aware that flushing an old heater has a probability of causing leaks that will cause separate repair or replacement charges. Also made customer aware that flushing isn’t guaranteed to fix it and that it is only a first step. Customer also noted a lower flow volume for water in the home. There is a whole house filtration system that has a maintenance sticker from 2020. Flow can be caused from lack of service for the filtration system. Replaced half inch gate valve with half-inch ball valve for backside hose spigot
Pulled toilet in men’s bathroom. Cleared soft tissue blockage approx. 70’ down the line. Located improperly installed transition between branch and mainline under the meeting room. Located at depth of 4’. Would have to jackhammer through slab and dig down by hand to repair. Would recommend replacing old toilets with pressure assist toilets to mitigate likelihood of the issue occurring again. Full repair possible but will require further in-depth camera diagnostic and building plans to assess to see if offset between the two lines is capable of being properly corrected, and the issue fully corrected instead of just lessened. Incorrect transition between lines is causing “belly” or a low spot where the water is having to flow uphill to drain into the other pipe. This uphill slope is causing water to pool at the end of the line and is causing the waste and soft tissue to hit the pool of water and lose their energy and accumulate into a blockage. Customer like filter system installed due to recent water testing that showed lead in system. Looked in crawlspace for accessible point to install whole home water filtration system, and noticed segment of potable water system after PRV are still in galvanized piping. Advise customer to either replace galvanized piping in home or, different filter system for underneath kitchen sink for drinkable water. Customer will provide different filter system and estimate was given for approximate price of installation.
