I am so, so impressed with not only the quality of the work Christian did, but also the attention to detail, deep knowledge, communication, and clear pride that he brought to every interaction. It’s so rare to work with someone these days that treats your house like their own, but that’s exactly what we got. I won’t be calling anyone else in the future - I found Chen (and Christian) via a quick Reddit search after our water heater failed and they literally saved the day.

Matt was very fast, thoughtful and helpful. Our water heater burst back in November. We called Chen and they were able to send out Matt pretty fast. He drained the water out so we can have hot water same day and replaced the heater the next day, which we really appreciate since winter was coming. He also explained everything clearly when we have questions after the service about the new pressure valve, and we paid very reasonable price for everything. Our water heater is working really well! I will recommend him to anyone!

Responded quickly, provided a fair price and explanation of the services needed. Quality of work was good and had a professional approach. There was no pushing of yearly memberships like other companies, which we appreciated also. We recommend.

Have different quote options to install more accessible shut off valve/smart valve to shut off water to house. Valve is currently in the back corner of the crawlspace. Also left quote for water heater as it is from 1995.
Call for concerns with polybutylene pipe. Met with Kyle and discussed concerns. He and his family moved in to home approximately one month ago. During an inspection there were several items flagged. I reviewed some of the concerns and performed a thorough evaluation. Primary issues identified -Polybutylene in mater bathroom jetted tub (copper in floor, poly is only 6-8 feet of pipe on hot and cold) -S trap in kitchen, and double trapped. (Second trap in basement) -Age of water heater. Ruptured bladder in expansion tank, tank unsecured. Copper gas pipe to water heater. Saddle tap for humidifier on hvac system. Gas valve should be replaced. No drip pan. -Prv showing 70psi @~1230pm on weekday /Christmas Eve. Measured on hose spigot due to concerns with water heater condition. Additional observations. Daughter’s bathroom overflow trim plate missing. Saddle tap under this sink. All end stop shut off valves are old and brittle. Likely to fail when needed to change faucets and toilets.
First customer they were shopping for different estimates to get a customer supplied water heater installed. They are looking for the cheapest bid possible to get the work installed in order for me to bring it up to code and up to Chen plumbing standards. I’m unable to do it any cheaper due to the fact of what the work would entail provided four different solutions of what we could do. They have already supplied the water heater. It is a 40 gallon A.O. Smith gas however they currently have a 50 gallon natural gas by whirlpool. I recommended to swap 50 to 50 rather than 40 to 50 did not check water pressure due to the fact that the water heater was too old to check it at the drain spout and I had a feeling it would leak if I touched it at this time it’s just an estimate.
Came out for a dripping hose bib. Tested water pressure and found it was around 100 psi. Received approval to replace hose bib and PRV. Water heater is from 2002. Strongly recommended homeowner replace the water heater. Did not replace expansion tank at this time as it’s included in replacing the water heater. Replaced the PRV and front hose bib. Had to cut wall and install access panel for the hose bib. No further issue at this time. Customer wants to get other quotes for water heater before he makes a decision on that.
Call for blocked drain spout for gutter. Arrived and met with Dan and discussed concerns. He has one drain spout that is blocked that serves a single gutter spout. I checked back yard and it appears that the run is approximately 20-30 feet, and is corrugated pipe. I discussed options for clearing. This included jetting line and using camera to identify any damaged areas. Due to nature of issue, Dan would prefer to reroute the drain.
Customer stated that there was a leak on irrigation. Dug up area and found valve box with RPZ inside. Shut off RPZ and leak stopped. Cover back soil. Cleaned up work area.
Cut ceiling in laundry room , check leak . Found leak from upstair fireplace area
Customer had issues with fireplace not lighting. Checked valves for proper function and cycled fireplace several times to ensure fire was lighting properly. After spray tested area for leaks.
Customer stated that kitchen sink wasn’t draining and that disposal was working properly. Gave customer estimate to clear stoppage and rework piping. Removed eggshells and other waste from kitchen line and rework drain pipe. Tested and now kitchen sink drain is draining as it should and disposal is working. Stated to customer if backing up continues to happen we need cut into wall and rework piping. Also, at this time, customer didn’t want pressure checked in home. Cleaned up work area.
Customer stated that there was a sewer gas smell in laundry room. Found that there was no ptrap. Cut pvc pipe and installed ptrap. Tested and no leaks where present at this time.
Diagnose several issues between master bathroom and basement plumbing. Gave multiple estimates for primary and secondary plumbing issues to fix. Got approval for primary estimate to be completed on Wednesday.
Gave detailed quote to reroute sewer line in their backyard to facilitate ESOG foundation repair upon the customer’s approval. We rerouted the line with the appropriate slope to ensure proper function. The line was thoroughly tested. The soil was carefully backfilled and compacted and everything is now working. The job is complete and tested our standards.
Branch line blockage affecting master bathroom and hallway powder room. Located soft tissue blockage in the tie in between both bathrooms. Cleared blockage and confirmed no other issue going down to septic tank. Some flat spots in the drain coming from the master bathroom which is their primary bathroom. Recommended installing a bidet seat or a power assist toilet to help in having enough energy to clear the flat spots. House pressure tested at 60 psi. No further issue at this time. Customer had already pulled toilet. He elected to reset it himself.
