Called out today due to an issue with an upstairs bathroom tub/shower valve that was making a knocking noise when turned to hot all the way. It was an old American standard about 20 yrs old. Checked water pressure and it was 100 psi which is higher than safe range of 50-79 psi. High water pressure will cause just about any issue one can have on the plumbing System. First, we replaced the failed pressure reducing valve with new of same model, and installed new ball valve shutoff for customers reliable use in future. We also replaced the shower cartridge, but after turning water back on to test, it did not fix the issue. Client ordered new tub/shower valve and trim and we went and picked it up, then returned to cut the Sheetrock behind and install it. After installation of valve and trim and after testing, cleaned up our mess and caulked around the new trim. We had to cut a bigger hole than planned to replace the valve, so we will order a bigger access panel to cover that hole, then come
