Client called us out today due to a clogged main sewer line outside. There are 2 clean outs and both were holding water. Best choice was to jet the entire line with high pressure water and clear the blockage/clean out the pipe so we could see the issue. After multiple passes we were able to break the clog free then ran sewer camera to inspect. There don’t seem to be any issues, UNTIL after the 2nd clean out by the sidewalk, under the sidewalk. To repair this issue, we would have to bust up the concrete sidewalk, then dig down about 3’ with the backhoe to the sewer line, to then cut out the problem section and repair it. Client will need to check with the city to verify it’s OK for us to dig up the sidewalk, also wouldn’t be a bad idea to have them tell you where your responsibility stops as far as sewer line is concerned.
