Service Call Summary – Vibrations from Water Pipes Date: 10 December 2025 Customer: Rock & Mrs. Payne Technician: Shawn Customer Concern Customer reported vibrations/noises coming from the water pipes throughout the home that have worsened over the past 1–2 years. Findings Pressure Regulating Valve (PRV) Existing PRV manufactured in 2012 (13 years old) Incoming static pressure drops to ~35 psi (low), but builds to excessive pressure overnight Classic symptom of a failing/diaphragm-deteriorated PRV Water Heater Manufactured September 2011 (14 years old) Significant sediment buildup causing audible percolation/boiling noises during heating cycle No leaks observed at this time No thermal expansion tank installed (required when a PRV is present) Toilets Upstairs hall bathroom: Toilet running due to soap dispenser physically blocking the flapper Master bathroom: Fill valve failed and allowing tank to continuously run (common secondary symptom of fluctuating pressure from bad PRV)
