Client called us out today to check out some possible plumbing issues they noticed when the kitchen cabinets were pulled out due to some water damage mitigation they had done. There was a couple old abs drain lines that were no longer in use, and the one for the dishwasher was very rusted and actually just broke apart when removing it. Also, the copper water lines in the wall had a lot of corrosion as they are from the 70’s. We cut out all the exposed copper water lines we could see and replaced with new pex a water piping. Replaced the back hose bib and added ball valve shutoff under sink for it, per code. Installed new 1/2” pex a quarter turn stop valves for the hot and cold for kitchen sink and the hot for the dishwasher. Capped the 2 unused abs drain lines with fernco caps and tightened. Once all connections were made, we turned water to home back on and tested. All connections good, no leaks. Sealed around the new hose bib with caulking to waterproof and keep critters out. Home
