Homeowner stated that he ran two short cycles on the washer and it drained fine but then he ran a longer cycle with more water and it started flooding the laundry room so he called us to fix the issue. Upon arrival homeowner greeted me at door and showed me to the laundry room and I could smell sewer odor and homeowner explained the situation. I offered a couple of solutions and he opted to replace the cast iron and install a p trap. I started on first floor and cut the wall and there was no p trap so I removed two 90 2 inch elbows and cut the cast iron lower and installed a sanitary tee 2 inch with a p trap and a studor vent. Once I was done I proceeded to the basement and began removing the cast iron for the laundry line and upon removing it the pipe was full of black sludge that solidified so I ran my flex shaft and removed all the sludge and ran water and it works properly I connected the 2 inch to 3 inch pvc and then tested the connections.
