For this job, we were called out to give an estimate on installing a new 40 gallon water heater. The customer had one from 2007 that needed to be replaced because I was leaking from the bottom but it turns out it was split from the back my first immediate thought maybe the pressure was high however the pressure is at 60 pounds of pressure so more than likely it was just end of life for the heater so what I recommended is that we go ahead and replace it with a brand new 50 gallon heater without the stand and put a pan in Install a new gas flexible line rather than the soft K copper in addition to that installed a new thermal expansion tank with the bracket to support it at the front of the water heater added all the necessary, pro press, connections, and pipe once installed there are no leaks of gas and or water tested the gas with bubbles and to ensure that there’s no water leaks, ran my hand across every single fitting to ensure that there’s nothing leaking at this time.
