I found Vern's Plumbing from our hot water heater manufacturer sales man Matt Whilem. We bought this house in 2022. The previous owner had another plumbing company who I have nothing nice to say about the experience. He came in with attitude and proceeded to tell me all BAD stuff about his past experience with the previous owner. I point this out because it didn't matter. I am a new client so why share your baggage with me. Secondly, he tried to sell me on flushing our hot water heater. Our water is the municipality provided water. Flushing our hot water heater is unnecessary according to Matt Whilem. Lastly the previous plumber told me we didn't have a back up sump pump and he could sell us one.... I shared all of this will Matt Whilem who quickly told me to contact Vern's Plumbing in Bealeton VA. And I have been sooooooo thankful since I made that call. We forwent the past plumbing company - for which we bought and paid for the "one year VIP package to be their clients" and dropped them like a hot potato. I have shared Vern's Plumbing with everyone I encounter - and I have big mouth which I have failed to keep quiet :-) Everyone I meet who says they need a reliable plumber I quickly say, "oh have I got a company for you!" It has always been great. I apologize for not renewing the contract in 2023 but I thought Vern's would send us a reminder which was never sent out. ah well lessoned learned. I am glad to have Vern's Plumbing in my address book. Thank you

Found the cold side washing machine shut off is leaking at the stem Mentioned to Carl these washer boxes are sold as a kit and it would be more cost effective for him to replace the box rather than just the single valve Make an attempt to replace cold water valve Whoever Home Depot’s representative is somehow told Carl the valve can just be “swapped out” There will be no warranty for the washer box or valves, we cannot guarantee connections inside of the wall without removing the box. Should any damages or issues from this gauge occur within the wall Vern’s plumbing is not responsible Customer was informed the correct repair is to open the wall and replace the box, as to ensure all walled off fittings are not leaking within the wall Replaced cold side washer box shut off with a like chrome 1/4 turn shut off No warranty active for the box, the cold valve itself will be warrantied
Replaced shower arm 90 in the wall that was cracked on the left side Technician believes this has been leaking for quite some time as there appears to be mold accumulation within the wall Customer asked for recommendations on a remediation company Semper dry, (540)-642-2446 and ask for Eric Let customer know I can give Eric his number and have him reach out Remove drywall and install new drop ear elbow to replace cracked one

Snake toilet with closet auger Cleared toilet with auger and noticed toilet does not flush properly, attempted to adjust chain handle assembly but that did not affect the flushing of the toilet Replacing this toilet for one with a more adequate flush can definitely help prevent further issues with this basement bathroom down the line
Flushed toilet appx 10 times and added toilet paper around base so customer can continue to keep an eye on the base leak Emailed estaimte for new toilet installed in the downstairs bathroom Added a few options but customer was most interested in the standard flapper style American standard
Replaced inner seal for kohler one piece toilet Customer had parts on hand from kohler Also looked at front hosebib that’s leaking at the packing nut, in order to replace this bib we will need to remove drywall in the stairwell to gain access to the piping below the bib Once access is gained we will remove the existing hosebib and replace with a new frost free style Once bib is replaced we can install an access panel for future repairs or replacement of the bib

Customer has a toilet that is having issues holding water. It's a 20 year old toilet that has a larger flush volume than newer toilets. Customer has parts but at this time I have just left estimates
We will have to cut the tile on the soaking tub to gain access to where the hose to the hand sprayer and replace it. Customer is informed on getting a tile guy to come and replace the tile when we're done. Verns is not responsible for broken or damaged tile during the removal process. Remove one tile and was able to replace the supply line leading to the side sprayer for the tub faucet. Tested and checked for leaks and eere good to go. Could not reach home owner by phone
Installed new owner supplied dishwasher.
