Call for pump not working in break room. Met with Ms. Marlyn. She states the pump for the break room sink is not functioning, leading to the sink and the dishwasher not draining. Inspection revealed a 3-4 year old liberty ejection pump system has failed. Bypassing did activate pump, but discharge was inconsistent. Power supply appears adequate and consistent. Drain line is approximately 8-10 foot rise, and horizontal run has adequate fall. Vent line is dedicated, not admittance valve. Check valve functioning well. Ms. Marlyn mentioned cleaning bird feeders in the sink, and this was consistent with clumps of bird seed inside pump basin. I replaced unit and advised that mesh strainers may help extend the life expectancy of the pump. While on site I also discussed water heater. A serial number lookup places this water heater at 30 years old. Signs of failure present, and I recommend replacing the unit as soon as possible.
