Installed new temp board and potentometer on Skillet. While getting old temp probe out found high limit is faulty, will order new limit and heat shield casing. Also almost every screw was rusted out and had to be chiseled or drilled out of bottom panel. Will install new screws. 11/6/19 Installed new limit and temp probe. Put new hardware into bottom panel. Started and cycled unit ok. Burners are burning orange about 3/4 way down. Checked gas pressure it is ok. orifices appear to be the correct size for nat gas. Adjusted ventures and still orange flame. Unit may have rusted out burners unit is too hot at this time to tear down and inspect. Will make estimate to return and inspect burners when unit is not in use.
Found MFO tilt skillet unit off and gas off. spoke to staff. found unit will flash red light but not turn on and when it was running had black soot. inspected unit. found soot built up near burners. accessed components. found power to control but no power to ignition. tested thermocouple found 70 ohms at 80*F. no chart handy will check. jumped power to ignition found gas pressure low at 3"wc. adjusted to 3.5"wc. inspected burn before and after. found improvements but very orange flame. will need burner pulled and cleaned. under side of skillet cleaned. then retest and air shutters adjusted. excess corrosion on burners may require they be replaced. will check chart and determine if issue is thermocouple or control and quote repair. turned gas off.
