Came out for an issue with the sewage ejector that we previously replaced the float switch for back in may. This was not the problem today. 2” pvc make on the discharge side of the isolating ball valve had cracked. Pump was kicking on and spraying out of the broken fittings, flooding the box the backflow and valve were in, flowing back into the sewage pump basin and triggering the pump to kick on again and repeat the cycle over and over again. We notified managment of our findings and received approval to jackhammer up the box and repipe the outlet line. After removing the basin lid and pumping the sewage out of it, we found a massive root ball had grown into the basin and was surrounding the pump. When I was out here previously 7 months ago, there were no roots inside the basin. They grew through the gasket for the inlet pipe. We notified managment of our findings and received approval for additional work to jackhammer out more of the concrete and repair where the roots were getting i
