Last weekend we arrived to the trailer for no hot water, existing water heater is only about a year old. At the time of that service, I discovered that the reason for the water heater not producing hot water was due to a leak on the PolyB water pipe on the hot side, this was on Saturday. Client states that after that repair was made they had plenty of hot water for a few days after the repair was made. Client then advised me that they woke up one day and the breaker at the panel had tripped and they haven’t had hot water since. I used my multimeter to first determine continuity on both upper and lower thermostats and elements. I have continuity on both, resistance states around 14 on both elements and 0 for both thermostats. I next check if the wire nuts were loose and they are fine. Lastly, I checked with the breaker on if the top wires going to the upper thermostat is reading 240 AC and there is no power going to the top thermostat terminal, this is indicating a breaker/wiring issue.
