Performed diagnostic on 2004 Lennox AC system with 2000 Rheem furnace. Homeowner states that system is not cooling, only blowing warm air. Cycled system for cooling. Indoor unit kicks on and is blowing air. Outdoor unit is unresponsive. Checked outdoor unit electrical and system components. System is recieving proper high voltage power as well as low voltage command, still not kicking on. Found a secondary motor control was completely blown up and was not allowing system to kick on. The way this completely blew the top off can potentially mean there is more underlying issues that caused this to happen. With homeowner approval went ahead and replaced secondary motor control to perform thorough evaluation of system. After replacing secondary motor control System kicked on and started cooling. After full evaluation , Found That condenser fan motor is working harder than it’s supposed to and is at Max amp draw capacity. Compressor is also working extremely hard, and is very close to goin
