Arrived to the home, customer has an existing power vent water heater that the pvc flu piping had broken apart. Client had then cut the Sheetrock above and wrapped all the piping in foil tape. After providing options, client would like to go through with the work quoted. I then grabbed the material needed for the repair and returned back to the home. After removing the foil tape, I had then discovered that the water heater is missing a very critical connection to the top of the blower which is the rubber exhaust adapter. Whoever had installed this water heater used a no hub coupling instead, and the no hub has melted and broke apart. I advised to the client that I need this specific part in order to make the repair. I have reached out to our warehouse manager and they are ordering the part for the client.
