Arrived on site to perform diagnostic on 15 year old guardian unit. Homeowner states system is not blowing cold air. Indoor unit is running and blowing air, but outdoor unit does not kick on. He has tried replacing the fuses and testing the electrical but has has no luck. Had homeowner kick system on, and system kicked on normally and started cooling. Homeowner would still like me to check system to see if there is any problem on why it wasn’t turning on. Performed full evaluation on system. Checked unit electrical and system components. Secondary motor control is within range. Primary motor control is burnt and pitted at contact points. Amp draws on compressor are within range. Condenser fan motor amp draws are slightly high, and has actually started to leak oil. Checked indoor unit electrical and system components. Indoor unit has no supply or return plenum, return duct just goes straight into the top of blower cabinet. Went over findings and recommendations with homeowners. They a
