Arrived on site to perform diagnostic on 15 year old Goodman system. Jay was our yesterday to give replacement options. Homeowner is waiting on another company to come out and bid on Tuesday, but has company coming over this weekend and would like to get system running for the time being. System works and cools, but it never shuts off unless homeowner pulls the disconnect. Checked electrical components and found primary motor control had welded itself in the on position, allowing electricity to flow through it at all times even when not calling for cool. Secondary motor control is also out of range for compressor. Due to homeowner wanting to replace system, wants to move forward with the minimum to get system operating normally for now. Replaced primary motor control. Cycled system on and off, unit works accordingly. Refrigerant levels are in range and system is cooling.
