Performed diagnostic on 17 year old system. Homeowners stated that ever since we came out to perform a maintenance, the system has not been working correctly. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. Stated this was not happening before the maintenance. System was in cool mode when I arrived. Indoor unit is blowing air, Outdoor condenser is not turning on. Found system is wired up to Edison box where they can shut the unit down remotely. System was being shut down remotely, which cuts the cooling command to outdoor system and shuts it off. Did an override on command and system came on and started cooling. Edison box kicked in again shortly after and turned the unit off. Homeowners recently put in solar and want the box removed. Let them know that have to call Edison and have them come take the box off. System was not operational upon departure due to Edison shutting the system off remotely.
