Arrived on site to perform diagnostic on 14 year old unit. Homeowner states that upstairs system is not cooling, and it has not been cooling since the summer time. He has been going back and forth with his home insurance on getting them to fix it. Homeowners neighbor does HVAC, and he informed me that system has a refrigerant leak. He added 7 pounds of r-22 refrigerant and has already leaked it out. Neighbor had advised him to have a company perform a isolation test, so he would like a price from us to perform an isolation test to send over to his home insurance. Checked and Verified that refrigerant levels are in fact low and that is why unit is not cooling. System is flat on refrigerant. Isolation test would be the best option to find leak on unit. Also talked to homeowner about system replacement as we were out here in the past to quote for system replacement. Emailing quote to homeowner, system is not operational upon departure.
