Arrived on site to diagnose a 17 year old system for a not cooling system. Upon arrival talked to client on what’s goin on. He stated unit stopped cooling 2 weeks ago and haven’t tried to use system. He turned unit on and unit did operate. Inspected indoor unit and it had power and was creating air flow. Went to inspect out door unit found condenser coil is deteriorating on the inside. Also found fan motor not working properly as the fan is blowing air inside condenser and to compressor. Client stated he himself is doing repairs to the unit and he replaced fan motor 2 years ago and Been running like that since. Advised I would trouble shoot and see how he wired it in and to get it to blow air up removing the hot air so I could check refrigerant pressures. Also found fan motor leaking oil. Wired condenser fan motor correctly and is blowing air up removing the heat. Checked refrigerant pressures and found them extremely low and unit is sucking air in which is creating negative press
