Performed Ac Maintenance on 2001 system. Homeowner states system has been working fine and they hardly ever use it. Cycled for cooling. Checked outdoor unit. System mad a horrible noise on start up, homeowner states it does that every now and then. Checked electrical and system components. Primary motor control is in good condition. Secondary motor control is in range. Compressor hard start kit is also in good range and operating normally. Compressor and condenser fan motor amps are high, but still in range. Refrigerant levels are ok and system is producing 17 degree temperature split. Pulled condenser fan motor off and thoroughly washed out condenser coil inside and out. Replaced 1 inch filters. Overall system is operating, but it is very loud and inefficient. Went over findings and recommendations. Due to condition and efficiency, replacement would be the best option. Homeowner is fully aware of the condition of the system. They know they have to replace the system, but are not read
