Performed AC maintenance on a Goodman unit. Upon arrival customer lets me know the system is having a hard time keeping up on hot days. History shows leak dye and refrigerant was added to the system. Confirmed a leak using UV scan, leak is in the evaporator coil and is not repairable. System is cooling at the moment. Indoor amp draws are ok. Condensate lines are clear but has no safety switch. Duct runs are ok. Attic only has blown in foam insulation on the roof but none on the floor of the attic space. This situation can cause loss of cooling and hating in the attic. Outdoor unit was dirty and chemically washed. Refrigerant levels are low. Starter is burnt up and needs replacement. Battery cap is in range. Compressor start and run amperages are ok at this time. Customer wants to explore options to solve there cooling problems. Darren joined this visit to go over a solution. System was running at end of appointment.
