Performed diagnostic on 2012 Goodman system. Homeowner states the he was running his system and smelled a burning smell coming from his vents. He shut the system off and has not tried running it since. Opened up furnace and blower compartment. Filter that was inside the cabinet was dirty and wet, meaning water is making its way into the blower compartment and could be causing a electrical short. Poured water into condensation line and found it to be clogged and is backing up water into system, causing it to overflow into the unit. Performed cut and clear and cleared drain thoroughly. Poured water to test drain line and is completely cleared. Tried cycling system on and indoor blower motor immediately started to smoke up. Blower motor is shorted out, needs to be replaced. Went over findings and recommendations with homeowner. Wants to replace with OEM MOTOR. Ordered motor from Goodman Branch in Corona. Need to return for repair of motor.
