Customer had a bad GFCI in the garage that was causing garage door not to work and front, back, and side HVAC plug to also not work. Explain to customer we will have to troubleshoot and replace all the outlets but for today we just replaced the GFCI and I’m coming back to replace the rest of the circuit so we don’t have issues in the future. When arrived found that when going through circuit there was stab locked outlets with very loose connections and dry rotted siliconed. Replaced all the outlets in the garage and all the outlets outside and wrapped wires on screws and silicone. Explained to customer stabbed locked outlets are a concern and if the outdoor outlets are like that then the indoor ones will be too and they will need to be addressed. Tested gfci out.et in garage and explained how it works and also explained what it does. There are no issues at this time and 5 year warranty on entire circuit other than internal wiring for the outdoor circuit.
