Arrived on site and the customer stated that a four-foot fluorescent light fixture in the master bedroom closet was not working properly due to a failed ballast. The customer also had a 40-amp oven circuit where the oven had shorted, causing the breaker to trip and no longer function properly. The customer advised that the oven had already been unplugged. I explained that we could start by replacing the breaker, and after replacement, the circuit held and operated properly. The customer stated they will be purchasing a new oven. I also bypassed the ballast in the four-foot fixture and converted it to a 120-volt LED fixture using two direct-wire LED bulbs. Both the LED bulbs and the 40-amp breaker include a five-year warranty. A safety evaluation was offered, and the customer was asked if they would like written solutions for any recommended updates, such as smoke detectors, surge protection, or breaker upgrades.
