Received a call that both systems were not operating, upon arrival I found that the carrier unit that does the left side of the house and the master bedroom was low on refrigerant. I added 5 lb of refrigerant to that system, the unit is now operating and cooling properly. The Coleman condenser on the right hand side of the house, was calling for cooling, the contactor was pulled in but the compressor was not operating. I found that the circuit breaker was tripped in the basement, reset the breaker and it instantly tripped again. Went outside and pulled the disconnect and reset the breaker, upon applying power to the unit I heard that the scroll compressor is broken and clanging very loud. The compressor has failed, we will need to see the warranty status.
