Arrived at the job site where the customer walked the job with me. He mentioned that he previously had a Tesla charger installed for $200 and now wanted to extend the wall-mounted charger about 6 feet to the right of the panel to charge his new Mercedes, since he sold his Tesla. I explained that the work would require a circuit extension using EMT for a 50–60 amp hardwired connection. The customer stated he only expected to pay around $300 and wouldn’t go higher. I informed him that would not be possible, as the original quoted price was $988. To help, I offered to include the hardwired appliance at no additional charge, reducing the total to $652. The customer declined for now, saying he may call back to proceed if he doesn’t find anyone else. He was 100% happy and satisfied with today’s visit.
