Job Checkin

Arrived on job site; customer stated that the chandelier in the master restroom made a loud popping sound from the canopy area. Afterward, he noticed that the breaker had tripped. He reset the breaker, but the light still did not come back on. He then tried swapping the switches with no success and decided to call us out to diagnose the issue. Performed a minor troubleshooting service and found that the wiring above the fixture was burnt and melted. Discovered that there was no electrical box protecting the wire, so we installed a pancake box on the beam for proper support and protection. put the old chandelier, re-spliced the wiring, and verified that everything is now working properly. Offered to perform a full safety evaluation, but the customer declined. Noted that the electrical panel was replaced in March and that the home has been re-deviced as well with new grounding system , surge protection, smoke detectors, and GFCIs—all properly installed and in the correct locations.
