Arrived on site and spoke with the customer, who requested an Ethernet cable installation. While assessing the wiring route, I noticed a newly installed Square D panel. Upon inspection, I found several code violations. The neutral wire coming from the meter base is severely undersized. Additionally, there are 2-inch PVC MA connectors with multiple conductors running through them, which is no longer up to code — individual knockouts must be used instead. The bottom PVC connector also lacks proper grounding for the panel. There are multiple additional code violations throughout the home that need to be addressed. I provided the customer with solutions and estimates to upgrade and correct all code issues. The customer decided to move forward only with the Ethernet installation for now and will take some time to review the other options.
