Upon arrival, there was an immediate and noticeable smell of smoke/fire odor throughout the home. The system was shut down and a full safety inspection was performed to identify the source. During the evaluation, it was discovered that the furnace had overheated to the point that it ignited components within the evaporator coil area. Evidence of excessive heat exposure and combustion was present. This condition poses a serious safety concern and requires immediate corrective action. The system was left in a safe state, and findings were documented and reviewed. Due to the extent of overheating and damage, the situation was escalated to a supervisor to discuss full replacement options and ensure a safe, long-term solution for the home.
