Customer called for a system inspection. Customer stated tenant had been experiencing a vibrating noise in the home. Tenant stated he didn’t know when it made the sounds or what mode it is in when it makes the noise, tenant also stated he had replaced the filter. Old filter was in basement and was very plugged causing a restriction in the airflow. Found that static pressures on system were elevated, measured ducts and found that supply ducting is appropriately sized but return is sized for less than half the airflow required. No other issues notes with system cycled in cooling and heat.

Arrived to do a performance maintenance. Set system for cooling. Measured the systems static pressure measured a temperature split between return and supply air. Checked interior of the furnace for cleanliness. Found that the fan for both heating and cooling is coated in dust debris. Went outside and verified refrigerant levels. Verified operation of all electronic and mechanical components. Rinsed coil free of debris. Spoke with homeowner about the system. Air conditioning system is operational at this time.
