We've always had great service but today the technician did not come until 3 pm when we had been told 9am originally and then 11- to 11:30. In neither case were we notified of the delays.
Rick is very good. I trust his assessments and advice.
Our technician Rick, does an excellent job of explaining the issues with our systems and then actually performing the repairs. We feel very comfortable with his integrity and skills.
Installed 7.5 ton Rheem outdoor condensing unit. Installed liquid line filter drier, also installed a suction line filter drier.
The compressor for condenser unit two has shorted to ground on all three legs. I was putting together a quote to replace the compressor, the compressor is not available at this time but will be available within a few weeks. The compressor was also a lot more expensive than I thought leaving my quote to replace the compressor approximately the same price it would be to change the whole condenser. Spoke with Bob and he agrees with me that it would be a better use of money to get the new unit and have everything new with a five year warranty. He will be expecting a quote to replace the condenser.
The initial issue was called out for was because the 3A batteries in the thermostat were dead. I changed out the batteries and everything worked how it was supposed to. I was told that the larger carrier condenser (model number 38AUZA08A0A5A0A0A0A0, serial 4414C93961) was loud while operating. I found the split coil to be dirty in the middle. I split the coil and cleaned it out with a hose. This dropped the compressor amp draw from 22.5 down to 18. The compressor has a max run amp rating of 25. The temperature was 78 degrees at my first reading and 82 degrees after I cleaned the unit. The compressor is still a little loud but test within factory guidelines. The evaporator coil temperature was 40 degrees with an indoor temperature of 72 degrees and the condenser coil was 101 with an outdoor ambient temperature of 82.
The 5 ton condenser evaporator fan motor was running but the compressor was not. I hope my gauges up and discovered that the system was out of refrigerant. I was able to find a large leak in the evaporator. Due to age (1993) we will be sending a quote to replace the evaporator and condenser. The furnace is a 2013 Lennox and still in good condition.
