Upon arrival I began the AC tune up. First, I did a static pressure test in the system. It is rated for a maximum of .5 and my readings today show it to be failing at .8. Field Supervisor Scott is going to come over to verify my findings and see what we can do to lower this system static pressure. The blower motor is amping properly and the blower wheel looks pretty clean to me. The outdoor unit running amps on the compressor and fan motor are both within specs. The dual run capacitor is a 40/5mfd and it’s within specs on both sides. The refrigerant charge looks good and I don’t see any leaks in the system. It is cooling the house properly at this time. If you have any questions or concerns please contact us! Have a great week!

Today (6/26/24) I replaced the failed compressor under warranty. This system was installed on July 11th 2023. A new liquid line drier was also installed. The refrigerant was recovered, the new components installed. Nitrogen was used during brazing. The system was pressure checked with nitrogen at 225psi. The nitrogen was released and the system was vacuumed below 800 microns, the vacuum was broken with nitrogen and then the system was vacuumed down below 500 microns. The vacuum held for 30 mins. The system was then charged with R-410a using the manufacturer’s charging chart for this system. Tech notes: condenser: York, m/n YC2D18SB21SA, s/n C2C3491725, new comp. (Compressor amps are in range after charging the system) DT 17* high humidity wb 72

Assessed mini spilt system as customer stated it was not cooling. Outdoor unit operating properly, indoor head is non responsive to emergency over ride, not illuminating any leds on head and just generally non responsive to a call for cooling. Parts will have to be sourced before any repair estimates can be built.

During this visit the compressor for the 1.5 ton split system A/C that was installed in July of 2023 has failed. This repair will be under warranty. A new compressor was not in stock locally at this time. A new compressor was ordered from the manufacturer to be shipped to our office. The arrival time was quoted as early next week. The disconnect to the unit has been left in the off position with the indoor unit still powered for use of the indoor blower motor. Thank you, Jon Tech notes: m/n YC2D18SB21SA, s/n C2C3491725. Line voltage 242.4, cap 40+5 in range, open windings between two terminals, failed megohmeter test, compressor tries for a split second to start.

Arrived at the customers home to do a leak search on the system after adding leak sealer with UV dye and refrigerant to the system last week when we did the maintenance. Upon arrival I put the system into cooling mode and let the system run for about 10 minutes. I started at the furnace, opened up the evaporator coil cabinet. Using a UV light I checked all the bends in the coil, checked the TXV, checked all solder joints inside and outside of the coil cabinet. I did not find any leaks at the furnace. I moved to the outdoor unit and checked the solder joints on the line set going into the unit. I checked the coil on all sides on the outside of the unit, removed the fan and checked the coil on all sides inside the unit. I checked all the bends on the coil, checked all the solder joints inside the unit and checked the connections to the compressor. I did not find any leaks on the system. There were no signs of a leak on the system today. We will continue to monitor the system charge as w

Upon arrival set thermostat to cool mode. Customer let us know that she had a meeting to go to and showed us to the furnace. Static pressure passed. Changed filter, check all electrical components and were good. Blower wheel was a bit dirty. Went to AC unit outside, check all electrical components and were good except for the start up amps. We were getting 67.2 and it is rated for 60.8. Checked refrigerant level and was low. With customer approval added Leak Sealer with UV Dye and refilled refrigerant with half a pound, then we were within the level we need to be. Washed down AC unit with water. At this time systems are properly running.

Upon arrival I began the AC tune up. I started out checking the static pressure which I found was failing. The supply side of the unit is way too small. It’s a 4 x 12 inch all the way for around 20 feet. Andy D. was here discussing options to fix the static pressure for the homeowner so that her equipment will last as long as possible. The running amps on the blower motor downstairs was within limits set by the manufacturer. The blower wheel is starting to have dust built up but it’s not bad currently. I went to the outdoor unit and I found the capacitor had a burnt spot and the compressor wire was fried. I replaced the wire and the capacitor, which were under our warranty. The refrigerant charge looked good. Lastly, the runnng amps on the fan and compressor were good. System is running properly at this time. Have a great week!
