Excellent service

Ramon was terrific! He was friendly, courteous and always had a smile on his face! And he asked me about my experience with LBA and was actually interested in my answer - or he’s a great actor, but I don’t think so. Thanks Ramon!

Absolutely unimpressed

As part of the package that I purchased with LBA, I received a furnace inspection. The tech who arrived was on time and friendly. However, he did not tell me that he would be drilling a hole into my flue as part of it. My home is 20 months old equipped with several CO detectors. He did not discuss this with me as I would’ve told him not to drill into anything. Next, he discovered a pressure sensor on my furnace was malfunctioning and was determining whether it was a maintenance issue or a technical one. As he was explaining the problem to me he then proceeds to examine the flue termination outside. This port has a fine grade on it. He explained that he wanted to cut the flue to inspect the inside of it for deceased rodents. At that point I told him that the grate installed with the unit precludes any animals from getting in and that he was not to cut into my flue any longer. I explained to him that he could use a camera to look into the hole he already bored out without permission. At that time he contacted his supervisor which told him to stop the maintenance altogether. Not only did the tech not provide me with the component that was broken on the unit, but then forged my signature on the maintenance form. I will not use LBA again for any services.

Excellent service call.

Nick did a beat job of identifying our problem. I couldn’t’ justify the cost to clean the vents with the possible improvement.

Not a great experience

They we here most of the day yesterday and we thought things were fixed on an air conditioning unit. They installed it 3 years ago. It’s under warranty but we had to pay $800 for labor. The morning after supposed fix we realized it’s still not working correctly. Called them to come back out today but they said could not come out for two more days. The issue should have been fixed correctly the first day! We were lead to believe it was. We asked to speak to a manager on call and we were told there was none on the weekend. It is unacceptable.

Arrived to do a performance maintenance. Started inspection inside and measured a temperature split between return and supply air. Measured power consumption of the blower motor and checked system for cleanliness. Performed a static pressure test and found that the system is operating well beyond manufacturers specifications. Tried and failed to bring the system within spec. Reached out to a field supervisor to finish the diagnosis on the systems static pressure. Moved inspection outside and verified system refrigerant charge. Found that the refrigerant readings were skewed by how dirty the condenser coil was. Verified operation of all mechanical and electronic components of the condenser. Rinsed coil free of debris. Renewed the maintenance plan and installed the smart ac monitoring system. Air conditioning system is operational at this time.

Arrived at the customers home to perform a 2 system AC maintenance. Upon arrival I put the first system (main floor) into cooling mode and began by checking static pressure. Static pressure and CFM counts passed at this time. I replaced the furnace filter with a customer supplied filter. I checked all electrical levels which were within manufactures specifications today. I inspected the blower wheel for cleanliness and excessive play in the shaft. The blower wheel assembly was good today. I performed a temperature split between the supply and return air which was 21 degrees. I moved to the outdoor unit and checked all electrical and refrigerant levels. Refrigerant levels were good today but I found the compressor was drawing over the allowed amps on start up. I put the second system (upstairs floor) into cooling mode and began by static pressure. Static pressure and CFM counts passed at this time. I replaced the furnace filter with a customer supplied filter. I checked all electrical

Sent for sump pump quote. Upon arrival I was met by Doug who I went over the purpose of the visit with. Doug opted to not have vitals ran on todays visit and told me to focus only on the sump pump. After discussing options with Doug he informed me that it wouldn’t be plausible to move forward and our services were no longer required.

Checked the system in the cooling mode found the breaker for the outdoor unit had tripped which was why it was not running. After the outdoor unit was back up and running, checked the refrigerant levels which were extremely low. Performed an electronic leak check of the evaporator coil and found the TXV and an elbow in the coil to be leaking. Brought our findings and options to fix to the customer and she wants to see the other options of replacement before deciding.

Upon arrival I began the heating tune up on the main unit while Andy did the tune up on the 2nd floor unit. Both blower wheels needed to be cleaned. The outdoor unit for the main floor system has a capacitor that is failing and needs replaced. On the 2nd floor unit the fan motor was leaking oil and over-amping telling us it needs replaced. That unit also needs to be leveled up bc it is sitting very tilted at the moment. The customer had his contractor here while Nick was presenting options for him. The contractors said they could do all the stuff except the blower cleaning. So, customer has us clean both blower motors plus the trip and diagnosis fee of $120. Nick took the payment from the homeowner in the amount of $1,068.00.
