Hope never to see Scott again

Scott McKinley is the reason my system has had so many issues and several thousand dollars of necessary repairs even though it is only 5 years old. He sold us the complete system in 2019 which was apparently too big for our houses ducting. Which lba only told us was the problem last year and which we needed to pay even more to mitigate Now we need the heat exchanger replaced on the furnace which seems all part of the initial screw up on hvac sizing At the time of working on enlarging the duct work, I let the technicians know I was unhappy with Scott’s lack of expertise or understanding and really didn’t want to interact with Scott again. Last week we had the yearly inspection for the AC and Ren identified pinholes and cracks in the furnace heat exchanger so we scheduled someone to come out for a follow up Then Scott shows up for the follow up. I can understand if he’s the closest person to me geographically but I had already noted I was unhappy with the experience and presumed it would not be Scott ever again. Onto the specifics of the follow up: Scott looked initially at the furnace and noted water damage to which I responded along the lines yes the water damage is because you installed a system that was too big for our ducting causing the static pressure issues to which Scott a very non committal answer. He continues his inspection and comes out with “so do you want me to quote you a new unit” It seems Scott hadn’t even reviewed Ren’s report. I informed him that he was there to confirm the cracked heat exchanger and get the warranty moving along for that part. He went back to my furnace blaming Ren for not including enough information (unlikely since ren showed me the photos she had taken as evidence of the pinholes) Scott comes back and says we can do a warranty on the heat exchanger but that the labor will be $3798. Way overpriced, but at this point I want to be done with Scott and done with LBA in general

Excellent service

Ramon was terrific! He was friendly, courteous and always had a smile on his face! And he asked me about my experience with LBA and was actually interested in my answer - or he’s a great actor, but I don’t think so. Thanks Ramon!

Absolutely unimpressed

As part of the package that I purchased with LBA, I received a furnace inspection. The tech who arrived was on time and friendly. However, he did not tell me that he would be drilling a hole into my flue as part of it. My home is 20 months old equipped with several CO detectors. He did not discuss this with me as I would’ve told him not to drill into anything. Next, he discovered a pressure sensor on my furnace was malfunctioning and was determining whether it was a maintenance issue or a technical one. As he was explaining the problem to me he then proceeds to examine the flue termination outside. This port has a fine grade on it. He explained that he wanted to cut the flue to inspect the inside of it for deceased rodents. At that point I told him that the grate installed with the unit precludes any animals from getting in and that he was not to cut into my flue any longer. I explained to him that he could use a camera to look into the hole he already bored out without permission. At that time he contacted his supervisor which told him to stop the maintenance altogether. Not only did the tech not provide me with the component that was broken on the unit, but then forged my signature on the maintenance form. I will not use LBA again for any services.

Arrived to do a performance maintenance. Started inspection inside and measured a temperature split between return and supply air. Measured power consumption of the blower motor and checked system for cleanliness. Found bacterial growth present on the condensation pan for the evaporator coil. Performed a static pressure test and found that the system is operating within manufacturers specifications. Flushed the condensation drain line and removed the humidifier panel with the homeowner. Went outside and verified system refrigerant charge. Verified operation of all mechanical and electronic components of the condenser. Spoke with homeowner about the system. With homeowners approval performed an extensive coil cleaning. And set up for another time to install the uv bulb. Air conditioning system is operational at this time.

Arrived at customers home for an AC maintenance. Upon arrival I put the system into cooling mode and began by checking static pressure. I found static pressure to be passing so I did a CFM count which was also passing. I checked all electrical levels which were good today. I inspected the blower wheel assembly for cleanliness and excessive play in the bearings. The blower wheel assembly looked good today. I performed a temperature split between the supply and return air which was 20 degrees. I moved to the outdoor unit and checked all electrical and refrigerant levels. Refrigerant levels were good today but I found the capacitor to be failing. I also noticed the outdoor coil was very dirty today. I spoke with the customer about the issues found and options to fix. Customer decided to pass on the options today as she sold the home and is moving to Wichita. I washed the outdoor coil with water and the system was operating properly when I left. Thank you for having me out today, your tec

Possible airflow concern with the customer's system. Went out to the home to troubleshoot the problem.

Upon arrival I began the AC tune up. First, I did a static pressure test on the system. The manufacturer has a max static pressure rating of .5. When testing the unit I was at a .6 on a .5 system which is failing over the max rating. I turned the blower down one tap and replaced the filter which lowered the static pressure but didn’t get it below the max rating. The running amps on the blower motor are within specs and the blower wheel looked pretty clean to me. The outdoor unit is running well also. The running amps on the fan & compressor are within specifications. The capacitor is a 30mfd and it is still within specs also. The refrigerant charge was spot on. The subcooling target was 12 degrees and my readings show it right at 12 degrees. System is cooling properly at this time. If you have any questions or concerns please call us! Have a great week!

Went to check static customer static was failing it is at a .7 and other system is at .8 on a max .5. Customer is debating on moving or not. Is it too concerned on the static or airflow of the system. Interested in knowing more about his yearly maintenance and possibly getting blower wheels cleaned

Upon arrival I began the AC tune up on 2 systems. The first system is a 4 ton Carrier system with a max static pressure rate of .5 and the 2nd floor system is a 2 ton Lennox with a max static rating of .5 also. After testing both systems I found they are both failing the static pressure test. Main system total is at .75 and 2nd floor system is failing at .64. The running amps on both blower motors were within manufacturer specifications. The blower wheel on both units need to be cleaned. The outdoor units were running properly. I checked refrigerant levels, running amps on the fan and compressor motors and they were within specs on both units. The capacitor on both units were within specs also. Both systems are cooling properly at this time. We just need to have the Field Supervisor take over from here to verify my readings and talk about options. I hope you guys have a great weekend and call us if you need anything at all!
