Found when I first arrived compressor was not pumping at all , checked compressor amp draw with a meter and found compressor having an amp draw of 0. Had to cool down compressor with garden hose to be able to get compressor running again. Explained to homeowner that when a system is low on charge compressor is not receiving adequate oil from the refrigerant. After getting compressor to run at 6.9 amps added 1 lb 14ozs of r-22. Now refrigerant pressures are 190/75 with 7 degrees of subcooling, system is cooling at time of service but explained to homeowner that we do not know how long charge will last in the system.
