Completed PECO Tune Up. Equipment 3 Ton communicating Carrier Heat pump with 20KW electric heat kit. 18 years old Homeowners said electric bill $600+ dollars. However when they talked to previous homeowner they confirmed that this was the average bill. Carrier thermostat does have the option to run “Heat Pump only” as well as “System Control” and “electric heat only”. There is no way to set outdoor temp lockout for electric heat. Controls are carrier communicating. I cannot offer Ecobee or smart thermostat as they are not compatible. Setting thermostat to “heat pump only”will result in some savings.
