Service call that the AC was not working. Upon arrival found Outdoor Fan was running and the compressor was trying to start and would shut down immediately. Found a burnt wire from the Contactor to the Capacitor. Tested the start Capacitor which had previously been noted to be replaced. The Start capacitor was testing well below its rating range. Installed a new 88-108 Mfd Start Capacitor with starting relay and wired into the system. Repaired the damaged wire from the Contactor to the Dual Capacitor. Put system in operation to test. Measured Amp draw on the compressor at startup and during runtime. Measured voltage across Contactor. Took a refrigerant measurement and measured Supply and return air temperatures. If system continues to have issues the recommendation will be to replace the AC system. If the compressor wires are burning up this is due to the compressor drawing higher amps during startup and run. Due to age and overall condition of the AC would recommend to begin plannin
