Service call that the AC was not working. Upon arrival found indoor temperature at 83 Degrees and unit was set to 73 Degrees in cooling. The blower motor was running but the outdoor unit was not on. Found broken wiring at the indoor unit control board which was not allowing the voltage to go to the outdoor unit. Repaired wiring and put system in operation. Found 16x20x1 Air Filter was very dirty, replaced Air Filter. Measured refrigerant charge and Air Temperature readings. Measured Amp draw on the compressor which was running with high Amos. Compressor is rated for 16 RLA and was running close to 14 Amps. Also found Contactor on outdoor unit working but very worn and pitted. Also measured a voltage drop across the coil of the Contactor. Outdoor coil has some damage to the fins and some dirt buildup in the coil. Would recommend replacing the Outdoor Capacitor, Contactor, adding a Hard Start Kit, and cleaning the Condenser Coil.
