Performed Quality Assurance on American Standard Heat Pump system. Checked existing Thermostat and confirmed that it was not compatible for a Two Stage Heat Pump with Auxiliary. Presented options to Homeowner and installed an Ecobee 5 at the lower Installation Price. Programmed Thermostat and rewired equipment. Tested system in both stages of Heating and Cooling, and tested Auxiliary Heat Kit. Customer had also mentioned that the Electronic Air Filter was not working. Removed Filter Components, cleaned, and reset Filter. Filter continued to cycle into a 3 Red Flash Error Code. Checked wiring and ground connection. Removed Filter Components again and found one of the Collection Tray sections had a missing tab where the Filter connects to complete the electrical circuit. With the tab missing, the filter is not completing the circuit and is causing the Error Code. Homeowner stated that the Electronic Filter was working before we cleaned it during the install.
