Arrived onsite to perform Heating Tune Up on Gas Furnace. Homeowner had also noted that the AC was not running. Upon arrival found thermostat calling for Cooling and was set at 65 Degrees. The Indoor Temperature was at 72 Degrees. The system was not running. Tested system and found Control Board was not receiving 24 Volts from the Transformer. Tested Transformer and determined that it was failing and not sending proper Voltage. Installed a temporary Transformer to get system operating to further test. The Blower was not turning on due to the Capacitor failing. Installed a 10 Mfd Capacitor to allow system to run. System in cooling was only producing a 12-13 Degree Temperature Differential. Measured Refrigerant Charge and System is low on Charge. While testing the system the System shut down and the Control Board began sparking and shorted out. The Transformer failing may have caused damage to the relays/circuits on the Control Board and caused the Control to become damaged. System needs
