Homeowner is saying that the home loses water and when this happens he has to go out to pressure tank to engage the contactors on the switch himself. Once he engages the switch water gets restored to the home. From my experience it sounds like a piece of debris is stuck in the brass nipple for the switch, the pressure switch has a bad bladder, the 1” galvanized going to the home is freezing or the well is running out of water. Since water gets restored to the home as soon he engages the switch I don’t believe the line is freezing or the well is running out of water. Existing pressure tank was just installed 5 years ago when they converted the system from a jet pump to submersible. The contactors on the switch looked brand new, but the bladder in the switch could’ve been ruptured. Ended up getting rid of the existing 30-50 pressure switch and installed a new 40-60 pressure switch. Made sure 1/4” brass nipple was clear of all debris before I installed the new switch.
