Dispatched for a heat pump and air handler system that was not keeping up with the home’s heating demand. Performed a full system inspection, including thermostat operation, heat pump performance, electrical components, and auxiliary heat operation. During testing, it was found that the electric heat strips were weak and not producing their rated heat output. Heat strips are a critical backup heat source during colder outdoor temperatures, and reduced performance can cause the system to struggle to maintain set temperature. This condition explains the comfort issues experienced in the home.
