Arrived to remedy a system suspected of seeking gas. Upon inspection of the system performed an electronic gas leak search. Did not find any leaks during the search. Turn the system on and set the thermostat. Thermostat for a call for heating. Set up for combustion analysis and gas pressure tests. Found that the combustion analysis readings were way off and that the system was supplying almost triple the gas pressure to the burners. Checked the income and gas pressure to the gas valve and found that the gas valve is receiving 20 iwc gas pressure. This is wildly excessive for the furnace. Spoke with homeowner about the system and what is necessary to keep it operating properly. Gas company will need to lower the gas pressure to the home. The maximum allowable gas pressure to the furnace is 10.5 iwc. Once this pressure is rectified, the furnace will need calibrated again to allow the system to operate properly.
