Arrived onsite for maintenance for one gas fired high efficiency boiler. Requested the customer turn on the thermostats up to heat and confirm operation of the boiler and each zone valve. Turned the boiler off and removed heat exchanger cover. Cleaned heat exchanger. Performed a visual inspection of all electrical and inspected all external water components such as the exp tank, fill valve, backflow preventer and the circulator pump. Clear condensate lines. During testing left backplate in and overheated the system. Cleaned out the heat exchanger and replaced air pressure switch melted. Confirmed system is operating and heating properly at this time.
Received a call at the AC system was not operating, upon arrival turn the blower on but did not hear air flow. I went up into the attic and open the air handler, the evaporator coil is completely plugged with dirt and the blower wheel is also plugged with dirt. I found that the condenser fan motor is not running as well, due to the age of the equipment and the amount of work that is required, my suggestion would be to upgrade the system. It is a 3 ton Goodman system, the air handler is a 208/230 volt unit
