Performed the maintenance for the oil fired hot air furnace, replaced the nozzle, filter, and pump screen. Adjusted the nozzle as per the manufacturer spec and check the airband settings. I found that the combustion head is cracked at five of the seven connection mounting points, the combustion head will need to be replaced. I cannot perform a combustion test at this time because the head needs to be replaced first, once we replace the head we will perform the combustion test. Bled the oil line and fire the burner and confirm that it is starting, we will make any necessary adjustments after the new head is installed.
Came to no heating call upon investigation we found that the unit had 14 x20 filters were clogged and the 16 in return flex had been crushed choking off all air to the unit causing the unit to short cycle. Need to return to install new 16-in flex line for return duct. Gave quote for $1,500 We are going to collect half the deposit now and schedule it to install new duct.
